Plagiocephaly, or "flat head syndrome,"
is a common, treatable condition where a baby develops a flat spot on one side or the back of the head due to sustained pressure. Usually appearing in the first few months, it results from consistent sleeping positions, premature birth, or restricted movement in the womb. Treatment often involves repositioning, increased tummy time, or sometimes a helmet, and it generally does not affect brain development .
